Objective of Activity:

1. Investigate the marbling and tenderness of sirloin and silverside of Aceh cattle have different hair colours 2. Investigate polymorphism of four genes related to marbling and tenderness of meat namely myostatin (MSTN), fatty acid binding protein-4 (FABP4), calpain-3 (CAPN-3) and calpastatin (CAST), in Aceh cattle have different hair colours. 3. Investigate the correlation between marbling and tenderness of meats with the polymorphism of myostatin (MSTN), fatty acid binding protein-4 (FABP4), calpain-3 (CAPN-3) and calpastatin (CAST) in Aceh cattle.

Process of Activity:

Participating in the International Conference for Veterinary, Animal and Environmental Sciences (ICVAES) 2019 held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Syiah Kuala University. • 04/09/2019: On 08. 00 am we got notification of deadline of abstract submission for ICVAES 2019. • 10/09/2019: registering to ICVAES 2019 international conference • 04/10/2019: on 16. 00 we sent full article to the ICVAES 2019 Committee. • 05/10/2019 on 16. 00 we got email from ICVAES 2019 asking for abstract revision follow the guideline provided. From 16. 00 - 19. 00 we revised the abstract following the guideline. On 19. 10 we sent the revised abstract to the ICVAES 2019 Committee. • 08/10/2019 on 05. 53 pm we got a reminder from ICVAES 2019 regarding to manuscript revision deadline. • 12/10/2019 on 04. 00 pm we got another reminder for manuscript revision from ICVAES 2019 Committe. • 14/10/2019 on 11. 16 am I sent the revised manuscript to Prof Muslim Akmal (PM) to be forwarded to the ICVAES 2019 Committe. • 17/10/2019 on 05. 00 pm we presented our manuscript in the oral presentation at the ICVAES 2019.

Results of Activity:

Oral presentation and participation in the ICVAES 2019 international conference was completed. We are waiting for publication of the manuscript in the Scopus indexed proceeding that is expected published online on January 2020.

Challenges You Faced:

Short term of abstract and manuscript revision. The problems were overcome by asking contribution of all authors in the review and revision of manuscript.

Lessons Learned:

Experience, challenges and processes of registration and participation in the international conference held by local institution.

Recommendation:

Successful participation in a conference requires good planning, hard work and team participation.
