Process of Activity:
SMART CITY at UI and Udayana invited AUN Representative, Ms Kanokpan Paladech and Ms. Wanichar Sukprasertchai to propose conference postponement due to COVID-19 issues. The iDwell team, another conference partner, was also invited to confirm their availability.
Results of Activity:
All parties had agreed to postpone the conference to October/November 2020 with higher chance of holding it face-to-face, since the partnerships conducted not make any impact virtually. AUN had confirmed that the conference could be postponed up to January 2021, as well. The postponement will affect the paper submission timeline as well, UI and Udayana team will discuss the dates later.
Challenges You Faced:
(1) Very few participants had confirmed to join the conference in November, many did not want to confirm before any update concerning COVID-19 for November was addressed; (2) AUN would retract their funding if the conference would be postponed later than January 2020; and (3) Partnership activities could not commence if the conference was held virtually so virtual conference was not an option.
Lessons Learned:
The conference would only be postponed to late-October or early-November, to keep all four conference partners, since there had not been any national/international update addressing the situation in November. UI and Udayana team will do their best to keep sending invitations and publications to gain more participants
